Connamara Irish Whiskey

Connamara Irish Whiskey is rare amongst Irish whiskey, its hook being the smokiness associated with the malts produced by their neighbors Scotland. It’s a style of whiskey that had died away in Ireland after the 19th century, when small distillers would probably have dried their malt with whatever fuel was available at the time.

Connamara Irish Whiskey is definitely a one-of-a-kind peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey. Golden amber hue. The opening whiff unveils a definite fireplace aroma of burnt embers as the peat component reveals itself immediately, then peatiness gives way to the piquancy of the alcohol; after seven minutes of aeration the alcohol pungency blow off, leaving behind roasted aromas of lychee nuts, dried fruit and damp hay.
