Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block

Boekenhout is an indigenous Cape Beech tree greatly prized for furniture making. In 1993 the farm and homestead was bought and restored and a new vineyard planting programme was established that now includes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon and Viognier. For years now the rumors have been rife that Boekenhoutskloof has been up to strange things in the cellar – like adding chocolate and spice to their wines. While they can’t deny that perhaps the off thing or two may have occurred at some of their cellar parties, they have to take and enigmatic Mona-Lisa type stance on this chocolate rumor. To them, chocolate is chocolate and wine is wine. They only express what is there. You’ll just have to try the wine to know more.
