American Whiskey

Whiskey was introduced to America, one of the world’s largest producers, by the immigrants and pioneers. European immigrants found that it was easier to grow rye here than barley, the main ingredient in scotch. American whiskey is quite different from Scottish or Irish whiskies and there are six different categories: bourbon, Tennessee, rye, corn, wheat and blended whiskies, each with their own unique ingredients or production methods.
