German Beer

German beer making has taken different paths in different parts of the country. Almost half of all German breweries are in Bavaria. Bavaria has spawned the greatest variety of beer styles. Most styles have a stronger following in their regions of origin, Pils, Alt, Kölsch, Weissbier, Helles or Dunkel. With such a great variety of beer styles, from the racy, edgy Pils to the mellow, malty Schwarbier (black lager), there is usually a beer for just about any mood and any occasion.
